About the Writer: Riley Wurtz
About the Director: Daniel Sorochkin
Daniel grew up in Israel. His journey of filmmaking started in his military unit in the IDF, where he wrote and directed several acclaimed comedic films about the unit. Those films were screened at unit conventions in a theater full of hundreds of soldiers, and brought comic relief from everyday work.
After his service Daniel decided that he wanted to tell stories for a living, and has moved to the US to study filmmaking at New York University Tisch School of the Arts.
Daniel's comedic short Check Please was released on Short of the week after a successful festival circuit. He directed a comedic TV Pilot through Tisch called Shady Pines, a story about a crazy nursing home. And he most recently directed Lola and Dallas, a short mystery-drama about an unusual pair on the run.
Now, Daniel is developing a new feature script and working on branded content, always pushing forward and working on the next story he wishes to tell.

Riley is passionate in creating work that brings laughter to an audience. After graduation, she has continued her education by taking writing and improv classes at the Upright Citizens Brigade. She dreams to one day write for SNL and create her own Late Night Talk Show.
This year, Shady Pines, a television show Riley wrote, was selected to be screened at the First Run Film Festival, New Hope Film Festival, Hollyshorts Film Festival, and Hoboken International Film Festival. Riley also has experience directing commercials for national television. In 2016, Riley directed four commercials for a Time Warner Cable Campaign after her parody commercial was selected as a competition finalist.

Additionally, Riley is fascinated in exploring how video production and soical media interact. She has worked as a Social Media Facilitator for A&E's show, "Live PD" and as an Engineer for the entertainment app, Vine. Currently, Riley is in the process of writing and developing multiple video series designed for mobile platforms. Additionally, Riley is writing a new half hour animated adult comedy about a Cavewoman who is a hunter not a gatherer.

Outside of her work, Riley is an avid music listener and adventure seeker. She has bungee jumped into the Nile River, white water rafted on level five rapids, driven across country and surfed the white sands of New Mexico.
You can find Riley dancing out of rhythm, eating chicken nuggets, or petting a stranger's pug.
